None of that mattered though because I did want to sit down and have a heart to heart with Amir. It had always been on the agenda when I took this trip. Seeing him with that Latreese girl did put a damper on things but our conversation was a must even if only to get closure. Getting that closure was going to happen much faster than I thought because I was in an out in record time. I think it was due to the fact, my Mother was already in her bed sleep when I got home, my cell was on the charger because by the time I got off the elevator it was completely dead, which meant I had no distractions. I took a quick shower, put on some powder and some lip-gloss got dressed and was out.

When I walked into the diner, I noticed Amir sitting at a back booth. As I walked closer I noticed he was texting on his phone and I wondered if he was having a love chat with Latreese. I chuckled to myself when I thought how she would spit fire if she knew Amir was meeting up with me.

“I hope you haven’t been waiting long,” I smiled sitting down across from him in the booth. By the way Amir’s eyes widened I could tell I caught him off guard. “You look shocked to see me.”

“No, I was in the middle of a text and I didn’t see you coming to the table.”

“Yeah, I’m not surprised you seemed immersed in whatever text conversation you were having.”

“There’s a lot of things going down with business so shits hectic right now.”

  “Is everything gonna be okay?”

“I hope so but you know how this games goes. I mean you don’t technically know because you’re not in the game but you have an idea.”

“T rue,” I nodded, not giving Amir any clue that not only did I know the game but I was knee deep in the shit. “Other than business, how have you been?”

  “I’m straight.”

“How’s your coin collection coming? I’m sure it’s huge by now.”

“Can you cut the small talk? I’m not here for

  that.”

“What’s with the attitude? I thought we were meeting at our favorite diner to play catch-up with what’s been going on in our lives.”

“I asked you to come here because I have questions and I need answers.”

“What sort of questions?” I asked, shifting in my seat as I started to feel immensely uncomfortable all of a sudden due to the shade Amir was giving me.

“Why did you leave? After that day we had the confrontation, when you saw me walking Justina to her car, it’s like you vanished. You didn’t return my phone calls. You were no longer at your crib. You packed up and bounced. Then you just pop up out the blue like everything is cool. Why would you do that?”

“Amir, that day I came to see you I was prepared to tell you how much I loved you and I wanted to make our relationship work. But then once again, who do I catch you with..”

“You didn’t catch me doing shit!” He scoffed, and his face tightened up. “If you would’ve let me explain instead of running away, you would know that Justina came to tell me goodbye because she was leaving town.”

“What do you mean leaving town?”

“You know what the fuck leaving town means. the same shit you ended up doing.”

“Maybe I should’ve heard you out but I was sick of Justina always being the third person in our relationship. It constantly felt like we were having a threesome even though we weren’t fucking each other. I couldn’t deal with it.”

“I hear you’re in Miami working as a bartender.” “That’s correct.”

“So you said fuck me, fuck your family all to go serve fuckin’ drinks. What type of shit is that? All ‘cause you couldn’t deal.”

“What’s wrong with being a bartender? I make good money doing that,” I snapped back, feeling like the walls were closing in on me. This wasn’t the conversation I was prepared for or thought I was going to be having with Amir tonight.

“That’s the simple minded, selfish shit I’m talkin’ ‘bout right there. Every time something doesn’t go your way, you think it’s acceptable to run away and not deal with the problem. You never want to take responsibility for your actions but instead blame everybody else for bullshit situations you get yourself in.”

“Bullshit situations I get myself in! Get the fuck outta here! How soon we forget that it was Justina’s lies that had me sittin’ in jail for all that time because her grimy ass lied on me. Then a few months before my trial, you show up saying you can no longer come visit me because it will hurt poor Justina, like she was some sort of victim in this shit. Then after the truth came out you were still hanging wit’ that roach like shit was sweet and she had a right to be mad. It ain’t my fault her own motherfuckin’ mother shot her ass. So please spare me with this bullshit about situations I get myself in. That ho and her mama both need to be under the jail cell…point blank…period!”

“Listen, I’m not saying you didn’t get the raw end of that situation. Yes, you were done wrong and I did make mistakes in handling it but I admitted that to you and we were supposed to move forward but instead you move away. I don’t get that.”

“What do you want me to say, that I made a mistake? I’ll say it, I made a mistake and I’m sorry. Leaving you and not trying to build our lives together was a mistake and I regret it almost everyday. I didn’t just come back for my grandfather, I came back for you too,” I admitted. I slid my hand across the table and placed it on top of Amir’s hand.

But to my disbelief and dismay he pushed it away.

“You think you can give me some half ass apology wit’ a sad puppy dog look on your face and all is forgiven? Well you wrong. It’s too late.”

“So what.you bring me down here to this fuckin’ diner so I can pour my heart out to you and then you what? Reject me and embarrass me, is that the type of bullshit you on?” I felt myself tearing up. All my anger was rising to the top about to explode.

“I didn’t bring you here to embarrass you. I wasn’t even expecting you to say that you came back for me too. I figured you moved on like I had.”

“That’s right. How can I forget about your new girlfriend Latreese.”

“She’s a good girl, loyal and I can depend on her to stick around,” he seethed, clearly taking a jab at me.

“I’m glad you found a girl that makes you happy and has all the qualities I lack. I wish you and Latreese nothing but the best. So I guess we’re done here.”

  “Yeah we are.”

Amir gave me the coldest gaze and my heart sunk. I stood up and walked away. I regretted that I even showed up to meet him and I couldn’t get to my car fast enough. As I drove away I let myself have one last cry. I was built to endure a lot of fuckery but I was not cut out for this love shit.

  Precious

“I think it’s time for us to make a move. Are we all I in agreement?” Genesis stood looking at each of JL u s one by one waiting for our answer.

“Dad, you already know I’m ready. We need to calm things now before it gets even more out of hand.”

“I agree,” Nico chimed in. “We’ve waited this shit out long enough. Now that we know for a fact who’s behind all this fuckin’ chaos, I say lets do it. The longer we wait the more damage them motherfuckers gon’ cause.”

“Lorenzo is dealing with some other business right now, so he couldn’t be here but he’s onboard, so that only leaves you, Precious. We need your input too,” Genesis finally said, after I continued to remain silent. I was still trying to figure it all out in my head before I answered.”

“We can’t even put a face to these guys yet we just know their names. Are we really prepared to go to war with only that? Because once we retaliate

  there’s no turning back.”

“What part aren’t you gettin’.we already in a war. We just gettin’ our ass kicked. How many more bodies have to drop before you think it’s time for us to start kickin’ some ass too?”

“Nico, I’m not saying that we don’t need to set a plan in motion but I don’t want to start some shit that we can’t finish.”

&nbs
p; “That you don’t have to worry about, when we start we’ll be more than ready to finish. I already have another organization that’s ready to go to war with us. They are simply waiting for the green light.”

  “I hear you, Genesis.”

“What is the holdup?” Nico questioned, sensing my hesitation. “These are the same fucks that not only stole our shipment, killed a bunch of our men and most importantly responsible for Quentin.your father,” Nico barked, pointing his index finger in my direction, “being laid up at the hospital in a coma barely holding on. What the fuck is there to think about?”

“Nothing. There is nothing to think about. I only want to make sure that we have as much details on the them before we press go.”

“Precious, our investigators are working on getting pictures to go with those names as we speak. We will get it and once we do, like you said we’ll press go.”

“Then I’m onboard.” All three of them clapped their hands simultaneously as if excited about going to war. I understood where they were coming from, but I had this uneasy feeling about the entire situation and I didn’t know why. Maybe I was just getting sick of dealing with death, it had surrounded me since I was a little girl growing up in the projects of Brooklyn. I thought that I had finally reached a stage in my life that the bloodshed was behind me but I guess not.

“Now that we’re all in agreement, what’s our next move?”

“While we’re waiting for those pics, I have a few men scoping out all important locations so we can decide when and how we will strike. Once we have all pertinent info we’ll send in the troops and deliver a message. Let them know if they want a war we’ll give it to them but they better get the body bags ready.”

“Dad, when it’s time to send the men in, I want to be there.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea. It might be too risky.”

“You’re grooming me to be a leader. This operation is huge and you need a leader there to oversee everything, that should be me.”

“I don’t want to put you in a dangerous situation and anytime you go to war, I don’t care how prepared you are, there’s danger.”

“Danger is part of the game and since this is

the life I’ve chosen then I have to play it.”

While I listened to the conversation between Genesis and Amir all I could do was Praise The Lord that Aaliyah was a girl. I didn’t have to worry about her being a part of this drug filled violent lifestyle. I would hate to be in the position that Genesis was in. His son wanted to follow in his footsteps and how could he deny him that without being hypocritical, and that was something Genesis was not.

“Fine, you can go oversee it but like any good leader protect yourself and make sure you come back alive.”

  “I will, dad.”

“Good,” Genesis smiled, patting his son on the shoulder. I did admire the courage Amir seemed to have at such a young age. He was definitely his Father’s son.

“Amir, I’m proud of you. If I had a son I would want him to be just like you.”

  “I appreciate that, Nico.”

“I have to head out now. I’m meeting Aaliyah for lunch but anybody needs me, you can reach me on my cell.”

“Hold up, Nico, I’m going to walk out with you. I’m on my way to the hospital to see how my dad is doing.”

“No problem. I’m going to go over a few things with Amir but I’ll speak to both of you later on.”

“I apologize for snapping at you in there. I know you want the people responsible for shooting Quentin brought down just as much as the rest of us.”

“I do but thank you for the apology. I know you don’t really like to give those,” we both laughed.

“You’re right, can’t deny the truth. Other than that how have you been? I know you must be enjoying having Aaliyah home.”

“I am. I wish she would stay. Maybe you can convince her over lunch. You’ve always been pretty persuasive when it comes to getting her to do what you want.”

“Not lately. She’s become so head strong. kinda like her mother.”

  “That’s not a bad thing.”

“True, but it’s not a good thing when you’re trying to get your daughter to do what you want.” “Valid point. So how are you doing? Still out there dating,” I teased.

“Yep, and I’m making lots of headway.”

“You can stop the charade. I was only joking.” “Well I’m not,” Nico said, opening the car door for me.

  “Excuse me?”

“I’ve been seeing somebody and it has the potential to get serious. Business is pretty shitty right now but my personal life is actually good.” What Nico said was blowing my mind. When I mentioned him dating I was completely joking but now the joke was on me. First Supreme and now Nico had moved on and I was nowhere in the equation.

“Wow,” was all I could seem to get out.

“I thought you would be happy for me. I’m sure you were getting tired of me spending the majority of my adult life in love with you.”

“So you’re in love with this new woman?”

“I think it’s headed in that direction.”

“I’m happy for you, Nico. If anybody deserves to fall in love, it’s you. She’s a lucky woman.”

“If everything works out between us, you can meet her and tell her yourself. But let me go. I don’t want to keep our daughter waiting. She has no patience just like her mother..”

  “And her father,” I added.

“Bye, Precious,” Nico grinned, and kissed me on the forehead.

When I got in the car, I sat there holding my car keys in somewhat of a daze. I was processing what Nico had said to me and I didn’t understand why it gave me such a fucked up feeling. I hadn’t been in love with Nico for a very long time and I had no desire to be back with him. But at the same time it was upsetting to me, knowing he was possibly about to fall in love with another woman. I didn’t want Nico but I didn’t want him to want anybody else besides me. That was wrong on so many levels I thought as I drove off.

After my meeting earlier, then my conversation with Nico and going to see my Father, by the time I got back home I was emotionally exhausted. I couldn’t conjure up enough energy to even smile, until I walked into the lobby of my building. To my delight Lorenzo was sitting down holding a bouquet of the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen.

“You have no idea how happy I am to see you,” I gushed.

“Then I guess taking a chance coming to see you unannounced paid off. These are for you,” Lorenzo said, handing me the flowers and giving me a sweet kiss on the cheek.

“Thank you. I had a tough day and I didn’t think anything could put me in a good mood. So glad I was wrong because you’re exactly what I needed.”

  “Say no more.”

By the time we got off the elevator and reached my front door, Lorenzo and I were in a full- fledged make out session. Each kiss was followed with even more intensity. I struggled to get my keys out my purse so we could take what was sure to be a night of explosive lovemaking inside. After I finally found my keys and opened the door my blouse was completely unbuttoned. I had already unfastened Lorenzo’s belt and pants; all we needed was a bed.

He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, anxious to kiss every inch of his chiseled chest.

“Where’s your bedroom,” Lorenzo managed to ask between passionate kisses.

“Down the hall, last bedroom on the left,” I answered, forgetting he had never been inside my new place. Within seconds of reaching my bed, my panties were off and Lorenzo’s tongue was massaging my clit. He kept licking methodically from the very front all the way to the back as if he didn’t want to miss one spot. He had my body having convulsions without even getting the dick yet. The last man I felt inside of me was Lorenzo but it had been so long I almost forgot how magical the lovemaking was between us. I began running away because the pleasure was almost unbearable.

“Where you going?” Lorenzo said, pulling my
body back towards him. He was now grasping firmly onto both of my ass cheeks so I couldn’t escape the tongue down he was bestowing upon me. I gripped the silk sheets and leaned my head back giving into the lust.

Right when I was able to sustain, Lorenzo switched it up and slid his massive tool inside of me. He took his time as each inch went deeper and deeper until completely fulfilling all of me. From that point on all I remember was the moans and groans mixed with oohs and ahhs. Lorenzo was giving my body exactly what it needed and I loved him for that.

  Aaliyah

“How lucky am I to be having lunch with such an incredible dad,” I babbled, ecstatic to be JL JLspending some quality time with Nico.

“Flattery will get you everywhere, Aaliyah, so tell me what you want and it’s yours.” I relished at the expression on my dad’s face. He always got a kick out of me gushing over him but that was easy to do because he really was a great dad.

  “I have everything I want.”

  “You sure?”

“Yeah, I’m sure. Why you ask that?” I questioned, taking a sip of my water.

“Your mother mentioned you had a conversation with Amir and didn’t go so well.”

I fidgeted with the lemon on the rim of my water glass before replying to my Dad. “I’m fine,” I finally said, keeping my head down.

“Can you look me in the eyes and tell me that?”

“No I can’t. Amir has moved on and I’m hurt

but there’s nothing I can do about it.”

“I like Amir, I always have but you’re young and beautiful, you’ll find the right guy.”

“But I thought Amir was the right guy.” “Maybe he is or maybe he isn’t but don’t stop living your life while you’re trying to figure it out.” “It sounds like that advice is coming from your own personal experience.”
